 Questions And Answers

In this section is a list of help questions sent in by the My HottZone members and answers to those Questions. Any updates to the My HottZone server will also be posted here .

  • "Q"  What's the difference between a Primary site and a Sub site ?

    "A"  A primary site has a registered domain name Example:
    XYZ.com and it can 
     be accessed by it's domain name. A Sub sites does not have it's own domain
     name , it shares the domain name of the Primary site Example: XYZ.com/~mpage. 
    A Sub site needs a Primary site to exist on, A Primary site only needs a domain name.

  •  "Q"  If I move my site from the server it's on now to your server can I still use my domain name ?
    .
     "A" 
    yes you can, but you will need to change the IP number that it's pointing to when
      you change servers. When you sign up for service you will receive the My HottZone 
      IP number . Give that IP number to the website that you bought your domain name
      from. They will make the necessary changes for you.

  •  "Q" How do I access my email on this server and send email that shows  MyName@MyDomainName.com

    How to use Hotmail to send and retrieve your email:
    1.  login to your hotmail account
    2.  Click on OPTIONS  (it's near the address book tab)
    3.  Click on Reply-Related Settings
    after the page opens:
    4.  In the Reply to address ........ select : Identify the address below as the reply-to address.
    5. Then in the box below it.......put in the email address you want people to see when you    reply to them using your 
    hotmail email.
    Example: You@YourDomainName.com  

  • To retrieve email :
     1. Click on OPTIONS

     
    SMTP server: www.YourDomainName.com (out going server)
     Account name: your "My HottZone"  user name
     password :  your "My HottZone" password.

  • "Q"  I can't remember how to get to the user screens on the "My HottZone " server ...?

    "A"  
    http://YourDomainName.com/personal  or http://YourDomainName.com/siteadmin
    Note* you can only log into the siteadmin screen if you are 
    the site moderator.

  • "Q"  Does the My HottZone server have an email user interface for sending and receiving email ?
